Small Engine Rx is a remote small-engine diagnosis and advisory service. We review the videos, photos, and information you send and deliver a written diagnosis, verdict, or maintenance plan with specific recommendations — what's likely wrong, how to fix it, what parts cost, and whether the repair is worth it.
We are primarily an advisory service: we don't perform repairs or take your machine in. You (or a shop you hire) carry out the work. We also offer select upgrade parts (like commercial pulley kits) shipped to your door, and can source parts your diagnosis calls for — always at a price you approve before anything is ordered.
Written reports are delivered within about 24 hours of receiving your video and details. That's a good-faith estimate, not a guarantee — if something is delayed, we'll tell you.
Our advice is only as good as what you show us. You agree to provide accurate video, photos, and history for your machine. Safety first: follow your machine's operator manual, disconnect the spark plug before touching blades or augers, work in ventilated spaces, and never bypass safety interlocks — the manual and the law control over anything in our reports. If a repair is beyond your comfort level, take it to a qualified shop.
Remote diagnosis is a professional judgment based on what you provide — sound, video, and history — not a hands-on teardown. Our recommendations reflect our honest read, but we can't see compression numbers through a camera, and outcomes depend on execution and conditions we can't control. We don't guarantee specific results, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Keep your account credentials to yourself and give us accurate information. Media you upload remains yours; you give us permission to use it to prepare your diagnosis. We won't use your photos or videos in marketing without asking you first. We may suspend accounts used abusively or unlawfully. Your account is shared across the Rx family (Home Rx, Lawn Rx MN); these terms govern the services purchased on this site.
Written reports are prepared for you and your machine. Share them with your household or your repair shop freely; please don't republish or resell them.
These terms are governed by Minnesota law. If we update these terms materially, we'll change the effective date above. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
